Tashkent city police have opened a criminal fraud case against Imarat Development LLC after investigators confirmed the firm sold apartments described as being in Sergeli while building them in a distant district of Tashkent region, then refused to refund buyers.
Buyers who paid hundreds of millions of soums for apartments under the Imarat Development brand are demanding refunds after handover deadlines passed, a founders’ dispute paralysed the company, and at least one buyer says her unit was resold while she was still waiting.
