Paris Saint-Germain have been named the best men’s football club in the world for the second consecutive year, receiving the award at the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony held on 26 October at the Palladium Theatre in London. The French club beat out four other nominees — Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Bodø/Glimt and Flamengo — to retain the honour they first claimed in 2025.
The recognition reflected an exceptional run of form across domestic and continental competition. Under manager Luis Enrique, PSG won back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles, defeating Arsenal in the final on penalties after both regular and extra time ended level. The club also retained the Ligue 1 title and the French Super Cup, and added the FIFA Intercontinental Cup and two UEFA Super Cups to their cabinet. Those six major trophies brought the club’s all-time total to 61.
The Champions League final result carried particular weight given that Arsenal were among PSG’s rivals for the club award. The London side had been considered strong contenders, but the Parisians’ broader trophy haul across the period under review proved decisive.
PSG also set a new benchmark in the individual nominations. Ten of the club’s players appeared on the 2026 Ballon d’Or shortlist — the highest representation any single club has achieved in the award’s history. The nominees included Ousmane Dembélé, Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Vitinha, alongside Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, João Neves and Fabián Ruiz. Willian Pacho and Ferran Torres also received nominations. Goalkeeper Matvei Safonov was in contention for the Lev Yashin Trophy, while Enrique himself was nominated for coach of the year.
The club’s run of success began with their first club-of-the-year prize in 2025 and has continued without interruption through the 2025–26 season. Their UEFA Super Cup victories came in both 2025 and 2026, the latter against Aston Villa, while the Intercontinental Cup triumph was secured in 2025.
